a message from the outgoing membership chair...

It has been my pleasure to serve as the membership chair for the GCCRW. We have come a long way. We were recognized by the GFRW as one of the fastest growing Republican women’s club in Georgia in 2008 and again in 2009.

I consider all of GCCRW's members as a part of the membership committee.  All of you have been so helpful.  You talked to your friends about the GCCRW, invited them to attend our meetings, and encouraged them to join our club.  You gave me names, phone numbers and email addresses of potential members for me to contact.

According to my records, we had approximately 50 members, including associate members, when I assumed the membership chair at the beginning of 2008.  Our current membership is 172 which include 73 associates.

I put a lot of stock in how elected officials support local Republican organizations.  Anybody who holds an elected office as a Republican should join and support our Republican organizations.  Too many people show up when they are running for office and disappear when the election is over.   I would like to acknowledge and thank elected officials and those who ran for elected office but were not successful but continue to support us by joining our membership and attending our meetings even when they are not campaigning.

U.S. Rep Paul Broun

Jessica Morris:  Rep. Broun’s Press Secretary
Gabrielle Salley: Rep Broun’s Intern

Paula Adams has graciously agreed to take the membership chair for 2010-2011 terms.  Please give her your enthusiastic support as you have given me during my two years as the membership chair.  Remember,  our goal is to strengthen the GCCRW and Republican Party by advancing the ideal of limited government, strong national defense and low taxes.

Thank you again for all you have done to promote the GCCRW.

happy new year!

I am happy to say farewell to 2008. Needless to say, 2008 was a tough year for the Republican Party. Despite the disaster at the national level, Georgia fared much better.

Thanks to Wanda Duffie’s strong leadership and the cooperation of the Executive Board, committee chairs and our members, the GCCRW represents the true grassroots spirit of conservative ideals in CSRA. We have had some great guest speakers in 2008 and we expect it to continue in the New Year.

It has been my pleasure to serve as the membership chair for the Greater Columbia County Republican Women in 2008. When I accepted the membership chair at the beginning of the year, I set a goal to achieve 100 members by the year’s end. I thought it was a challenging but achievable goal. I am proud to report that we are closing 2008 with 151 members. I could not have done this without your help. Whether you realize it or not, all of you were part of the membership committee. You recruited new members for me. Many of you gave me names and contact information of potential members. Not all of them joined, but many did. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me exceed our goal.

The Executive Board voted to increase membership dues in 2009. A full membership for 2009 is $25. The amount includes your membership to NFRW ($8:00) and GFRW ($3.00).

Many of our members are business owners or independent contractors. I encourage you to view this list and consider your patronage to these businesses. When you do, you know that you are helping a fellow conservative.
